Artist's Comments

As you walk into the Knoxville Zoo, the bear exhibit is the first thing you see. This bear was just laying on one of the logs that they have in there with them and looked so tired.

That's adorable! He has cute eyes and looks like he's about to drift off into la-la-land! :D Nice fur texture by the way. You could use more practice (no offense though, fur is very hard to learn how to do) but still great!

Thanks! I was really frustrated with this one, and I couldn't figure out why, so it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. So, I didn't really put much time or thought into the fur texture. Still, I agree with you - I do need more practice when it comes to fur. I think I'm too impatient to learn how to properly paint it! Feathers and flowers (sounds like a good website name) are much easier to paint for me. Maybe I'll do some branching out this summer.

Oops! I get those feelings. You have the basic idea for fur texture, so you have that right! I'm sure with some experimenting YOU CAN DO IT!

Awwww... thanks so much for your encouragement! After this next big flower painting, I'd like to finish a fox painting that I began last year.

Those eyes are expressive, and I could feel the soft fur texture, but the egdes of the muzzle seem too crisp and sharp. Perhaps if you soften them a bit, the muzzle will not look like it was attached to the bear's face. Soften also the fur area around the log since the edges there are also too sharp. What do you think?
:iconart-fromthe-heart:
Yay! :excited: You can do it!

I agree completely. I had similar thoughts when I was painting it becaue the texture was different on the muzzle than on the rest of the painting. I'll definitely fix it sometime in the future. Thanks for your input!
